Packing Done Right Makes Every Move Better
Packing is the part of a move that most people underestimate until they are two days in, surrounded by half-filled boxes, running out of tape, and realizing they have no idea where they put the kitchen knives. Professional packing is not a luxury on a long-distance move. It is one of the most direct ways to protect your belongings, reduce your stress, and make the delivery and unpacking process as clean and organized as possible.
Safeway Moving’s professional packing teams are trained for every type of item and every type of move. We bring all materials to your home or office, pack every room to transport standard, label every box by room and contents, and load everything once it is properly protected. Whether you need a full home pack the day before your move or specialty packing for a single irreplaceable piece of furniture, we handle it with the same care and systematic approach on every job.
Our packing services are available as a standalone service, as an add-on to any Safeway Moving local or long-distance move, and as a partial service covering individual rooms or item types. Every packing job comes with the same flat-rate pricing model as every other Safeway Moving service. The price you receive before we start is the price you pay when we finish.

WHAT SAFEWAY MOVING PACKS
What Our Packing Teams Handle
Our professional packing teams are trained and equipped to handle every type of item in a home or office. Here is what we handle as standard practice on every packing job.
Kitchen
The kitchen is the most time-consuming room to pack correctly because it contains fragile items, odd shapes, heavy materials, and perishables. Our packing teams wrap every dish individually, use cell dividers for glasses and stemware, pack pots and pans with protective layers between each piece, and clearly label every kitchen box by contents and fragility. We do not pack perishables or open containers.
Living and Dining Room
Artwork, mirrors, decorative items, lamps, electronics, and large furniture pieces in living and dining areas require a mix of standard boxing, specialty wrapping, and furniture padding. Our teams wrap every framed piece in packing paper and corner protection, disassemble furniture components where appropriate, and pad all upholstered and wood surfaces before loading.
Bedrooms
Clothing, bedding, personal items, and bedroom furniture each require a different approach. Our packing teams use wardrobe boxes to hang clothing, efficiently compress bedding and soft items, and carefully wrap personal and decorative items. Mattresses and bed frames are wrapped and protected before loading.
Home Office and Electronics
Computers, monitors, printers, routers, and other electronics require anti-static materials and careful documentation of cables before packing. Our teams photograph cable configurations before disconnecting equipment, use appropriate packaging for each device type, and label every cable and component so setup at the destination is straightforward.
Artwork and Antiques
High-value artwork, antiques, sculptures, and collectibles receive individual attention on every packing job. Our specialty packing teams use mirror boxes, picture boxes, custom crating where appropriate, and multiple layers of protective wrapping for every piece. Each specialty item is documented individually before it is packed.
Commercial packing for office moves includes workstation components, IT equipment, filing systems, conference room materials, and supply rooms. Every box is labeled by department and destination zone on your new floor plan, so your team knows exactly where everything goes on move-in day.
Why Professional Packing Makes a Difference?
-
1It takes longer than you thinkA typical three-bedroom home takes most people 3 to 5 full days to pack properly when doing it themselves, often longer because of the decisions that slow the process down, what goes where, what to keep, what to donate, where the tape is. Our professional packing teams pack the same home in one day because packing is all they do. They bring a system, they bring all the materials, and they do not stop to make decisions they are not trained to make.
-
2Improper packing is the leading cause of moving damageThe majority of items damaged on moves are damaged not during transport but during packing. Dishes packed without individual wrapping. Glasses packed without cell dividers. Electronics packed in undersized boxes with empty space. Artwork packed without corner protection. Our packing teams use the right materials and the right techniques for every item type, which is why professionally packed moves arrive in significantly better condition than self-packed ones.
-
3It protects you on long-distance movesOn a local move, a box that shifts during loading is caught quickly. On a long-distance move where your belongings spend 3 to 14 days in transit across changing terrain, temperatures, and road conditions, every improperly packed item is an item at risk. Professional packing is especially valuable on interstate moves where the consequences of inadequate packaging compound over distance.
-
✓It makes unpacking easierProfessionally packed and labeled boxes make unpacking faster and more organized than most people expect. Every box goes to the right room. Every item is findable. Your kitchen is functional the first night in your new home instead of three days later when you finally locate the box with the pots in it.
